MSI project that the proportional importance of refurbishment work will increase to 62 percent of the total market value in 2002. MSI forecast that the proportional importance of refurbishment work will continue to increase during the forecast period
·      MSI believe that an increasing amount of retail construction and refurbishment work is being carried out in town centres. This is due to the government’s PPG6 regulations, revised in 1996, placing restrictions on out-of-town retail developments
·      MSI have identified a number of factors which affect the UK market for retail construction and refurbishment. These include:

·      The UK market for retail construction and refurbishment is expected to increase by 14 percent in real terms between 2003 and 2007
