About MSI reports

MS32070L MSI CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - LANDSCAPE PRESENTATION: UK: MAY 2000

An MSI Landscape report is a new concept - a short format report laid out as a Marketing Presentation. In hardcopy form, the report presents a pair of pages that discuss each report aspect or question shown in the Table of Contents. Thus the question Who are the Leading Hotel Groups in the UK? is supported by a graphic (in this case a pie chart showing market share of the leading chains) and by a table (in this case, the number of bedrooms and the number of hotels of 13 named groups, plus an entry covering the rest of the industry). The facing page states those Facts that you, as the person undertaking the presentation, would be expected to know - in this instance, five paragraphs covering the recent activities of the market leaders and pertinent bullet points to enable you to create a hard-hitting presentation.

The MSI Landscape range has proved to be extremely popular, both in the hardcopy format and in the additional PowerPoint electronic version - packaged ready for you to adapt to your needs or use immediately as a framework for presenting further analysis. MSI Landscapes are also purchased as an entry level report into a particular sector by marketing professionals, financial analysts, market researchers and business information professionals.

DEFINITIONS

This report provides coverage of the UK CCTV equipment market, analysing monthly UK sales and average monthly prices of selected CCTV products during the 1996 to 1999 period.

All values are shown at manufacturers' selling prices, exclusive of VAT. Volume data represents number of units.

The figures used throughout the report are based on UK sales returns received from ten leading CCTV equipment manufacturers and importers, all of who are members of the CCTV MDA. These returns are believed to be representative of overall trends in the market but do not show 100 percent of the market. MSI has made estimates of individual monthly returns if these were not submitted by any company normally submitting returns. MSI has made reasonable efforts to check the data, but is reliant on the accuracy of the companies submitting the data. This data may therefore be subject to revision if new or revised data is received from companies. Thus MSI cannot be held responsible for this data, and companies using this data must interpret the data using their own judgement and entirely at their own risk. Subscribers to this report will be informed when new or revised data becomes available.

MSI also collects data on UK sales of other types of CCTV equipment, but this data cannot be released in order to protect the confidentiality of the companies submitting that data. If any CCTV equipment manufacturers or distributors wish to submit their own sales data to MSI in confidence, they will also benefit from preferential access to this data.
