Ariadne is a manufacturing and market research consultancy that has operated in the engineering market since 1983. Ariadne is committed to continually trying to improve its customer service. Making A Purchase
To purchase a product, click on the catalogue entry and put it into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order. Please note that electronic orders are NOT sent automatically. To receive these as soon as possible, you are advised to telephone us as soon as you have completed the order. We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from outside the UK, your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. If you do not want to use the cart, please fax us to arrange another payment method. We accept Visa, Switch, Delta, JCB, American Express, Electron and Mastercard. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, mail or over the Internet via the encrytion software. We also accept bank transfers and cheques made out in Pounds Sterling. Our bank is HSBC, Maidenhead. Please request our account details if you wish to transfer money electronically. Orders are not shipped until funds are received. We can also accept French Francs via our Credit Agricole bank .
Shipping And Handling
Postage & Packing is charged per item. Delivery is by Royal Mail Special Delivery unless you choose TNT courier service. UK = £5.15 (£3.00 for student editions). Elsewhere in Europe = £8.10 Far East (Zone 2 countries) = £14.30 Elsewhere = £12.70 Please note that customs duties are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Delivery Schedule
We deliver stock items immediately payment is received. ELECTRONIC ORDERS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADED TO YOU. We send them ourselves for anti-fraud reasons. We will normally send your order to you by guaranteed next day delivery (UK) and Royal Mail Special Delivery for other destinations, with a normal delivery time of 3 days. Contact us if you require TNT delivery. We cannot guarantee arrival on a specific day, however.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. Delivery will take an additional 2 days.
Tax Charges
All hard copy book orders are VAT free in the UK. CD-ROMs and electronic copies have VAT charged at 17.5% VAT for the UK. European Union orders outside the UK require your VAT number for exemption from VAT - click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero and please supply your VAT number. Other taxation charges, such as any customs duties imposed, are the purchaser's responsibility.
Credit Card Security
Your transaction is encrypted at all times as protection against fraud, in the same way that a secure server operates. We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system (Actinic) over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. Orders are cleared from the server twice daily. We do not accept payment from non-domain name addresses without first verifying the customer details by telephone.
Guarantee
Due to the nature of our products we are unable to offer a "money back if not satisfied" guarantee. All products are quality checked before shipping and strong packaging is used. Please ask us before purchase if you have specific information needs.

Returns Policy
We regret that due to the nature of the product, we cannot accept any returns whatsoever. We make every effort to confirm your order before sending and request a separate email confirming your order before despatch.
Remittance Terms
Payment must be received for all items before they are shipped. The discounts on published prices are to thank you for prompt payment. We regret that, to prevent fraud, electronic versions can only be sent to corporate domain address emails.
