During this period, the average company witnessed a 17.5 percent increase in sales from £22.4 million in 2001/02 to £24.9 million in 2002/03 before ending the three years in 2003/04 at £26.4 million. Pre-tax profits also increased but by the higher rate of 30.7 percent from £1.9 million in 2001/02 to £2.6 million in 2003/04.
