During this period, the average Report company witnessed a 1.4 percent decline in sales from £59.5 million in 2001/02 to £58.6 million in 2003/04 although this was a slight recovery from the 2002/03 period. Pre-tax profits deteriorated in each consecutive year of analysis, beginning the three years in 2001/02 at £3.8 million before falling to £2.6 million in 2003/04, an overall decline of 30.3 percent
