The report analyses company and industry performance over the three years up to 7th April 2003. During this period, the average company witnessed a 20.3 percent increase in sales from £31.1 million in 2000/01 to £34.4 million in 2001/02 before ending the three years in 2002/03 at £37.5 million. Pre-tax profits improved at an even stronger rate of 58.3 percent from £1.1 million in 2000/01 to £1.7 million in 2001/02 and then £1.8 million in 2002/03.
