The report analyses company and industry performance over the three years up to 7th July 2003. During this period, the average company has seen sales increase by 16.6 percent; from £28.9 million in 2000/01 to £33.7 million in 2002/03. Profits rose at the rate of 29.5 percent finishing the review period at £627,000 after a three year low in the middle year of £461,000. Grocery wholesalers have realised positive results over the three years analysed. Despite some minor fluctuations the majority of ratios improved. Return on investment, sales to fixed assets and debtor days out standing ratios are the exceptions, though they only realised a minimal decline
