The report analyses company and industry performance over the three years up to 7th October 2002. During this period, the average Report company witnessed sales increase by three percent, whilst profits fell by 24 percent. Both sales and profits followed a similar pattern, improving in the middle year of analysis before deteriorating in the final year under review. Sales improved from £7.3 million in 1999/2000 to £7.5 million in 2001/02, having generated sales of £9.1 million in 2000/01.
The average Report company realised a profit of £0.4 million in the final year under review, after profits of £0.5 million in 1999/2000 and of just over £1 million in 2001/02.
