The report analyses company and industry performance over the three years up to 7th August 2003. During this period, the average Report company has seen sales increase by 10.6 percent; from £23.9 million in 2000/01 to £26.5 million in 2002/03. Profits increased at the even higher rate of 55 percent; from £2.1 million in the first year of analysis to £3.3 million in the final year. The book publishers industry has witnessed reasonable results over the three years analysed. The majority of ratios have improved, liquidity remained stable and only two of the employee ratios saw a decline.
