The report analyses company and industry performance over the three years up to 7th January 2003.

During this period, the average Report company witnessed a 24.1 percent increase in sales from £41.2 million in 2000/01 to £45 million in 2001/02 before ending the three years in 2002/03 at £51.1 million. Pre-tax profits also increased over the three years of analysis although this occurred at a slower rate than sales at 8.9 percent. In 2000/01 pre-tax profits stood at £1.4 million but by 2002/03 this had risen to £1.6 million.
