In 2001/02 the average Report company generated £24.9 million in sales and realised profits of £1.5 million. Sales increased by 14 percent over the Report period, whilst profits witnessed a slight deterioration, falling by 1.5 percent. Overall companies featured within this Report witnessed mixed results between 1999 and 2002, profitability and gearing ratios all declined against a backdrop of relatively stable liquidity and growth ratios.
